I also attempted to fix other styleguide violations such as
{ a: :b } over {a: :b} and foo(b: 'bar') over foo( b: 'bar' ).

* Verifying persisted? is false when Model initialized
* Passing nil to Model should not blow up
* Changing test name to the one suggested in pull request comment
