Mutant is a mutation testing tool for ruby under rubinius.

The idea is that if code can be changed and your tests don't notice, either that code isn't being covered or it doesn't do anything.

Mutants idea is based on heckle. The motivation is from reading the other mutants code. The idea an concept is from this gist.

Installation

There is no gem release and the code is under development and unusable.

Contributing

  • Fork the project.
  • Make your feature addition or bug fix.
  • Add tests for it. This is important so I don't break it in a future version unintentionally.
  • Commit, do not mess with Rakefile or version (if you want to have your own version, that is fine but bump version in a commit by itself I can ignore when I pull)
  • Send me a pull request. Bonus points for topic branches.
